Big 5: MAN dealer in UAE wins top service award
United Motors & Heavy Equipment wins service prize for MEA countries
United Motors & Heavy Equipment has been awarded the title of best service provider for MAN vehicles out of importers in all of Africa and the Middle East.
A ceremony was held at The Big 5 show, where MAN occupies a large outdoor stand. The award was presented by Markus Geyer, CEO for MAN's sales region in the Middle East and Africa, to Khalifa Saif Darwish Alketbi, managing director of United Motors and Heavy Equipment Company and Darwish Bin Ahmed in Abu Dhabi.
Darwish Bin Ahmed itself was placed fourth in the overall competition.
Testing of the centres included an anonymous process, with testers making contact as customers in order to experience the capabilities of each centre.
The United Motors service centre outperformed 42 other sites from 35 participating countries in the region, in addition to being ranked among MAN’s top-performing service centres globally.
Ten individual service centres from the Middle East and Africa were recognised for excellence through the process.
“On this occasion, I would like to congratulate United Motors & Heavy Equipment Company for this achievement," said Rudolf Wiegand, MAN VP, aftersales in Middle East and Africa.
"The superior service delivery team and customer-orientated mindset have been the key to winning this award. The harsh terrain, climate and intense workload demands strong aftersales support to maintain high vehicle performance.
"MAN has a big product footprint in the MENA region, with more than 70,000 trucks and more than 8,000 buses currently in operation on regional roads,” concluded Wiegand.
