Because of Covid-19, heavy equipment auctioneer Ritchie Bros. is holding all its auctions entirely online.

Using a powerful online bidding system called Timed Auctions, the Company's in Dubai, was open for several days and ended on June 30.

It saw strong attendance: more than a thousand bidders from 70+ countries joined online to buy equipment, representing a 20% increase over the same auction a year ago.

More than a thousand equipment items were sold in the auction, including earthmoving machines, trucks, cranes as well as stationery items such as generator sets and attachments. The most expensive item sold in the auction was an unused 2019 XCMG XCT100 100 Ton 10x6x6 Hydraulic Truck Crane that sold for $435,000.

- 1,012 bidders from 73 countries
- Top 5 bidder countries: UAE, USA, Canada, UK and The Netherlands
- Top equipment groups: Wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators, mixer trucks, lifts and truck tractors
