Wacker Neuson is now making its WL20e fully electric wheel loader – which is launched in 2015 as the first wheel loader with an electric drive – available with a high-quality AGM battery.

The performance of the fully electric WL20e wheel loader is equivalent to and can even exceed that of a diesel-powered model, as the tipping load reaches up to 1,509kg due to the weight of the battery.

If the battery of the WL20e wheel loader is fully charged, the machine can perform typical application like transporting and loading goods for up to five hours. In its bucket mode, the machine has a capacity of 0.2m3.

The abbreviation AGM stands for ‘Absorbent Glass Material’, and designates a type of battery where the electrolyte is bound in a fleece made of glass fibres — making it a leak-proof system.

In addition to this aspect, the batteries are less sensitive to temperature and heat up less when charging and during operation, which increases electric power output as a result.

The battery itself is virtually maintenance-free, and customers who already have a WL20e electric wheel loader can convert to the AGM technology, including when a battery replacement is due.

The flexible interim charging of electric equipment has become increasingly efficient due to higher power currents and improved power draw, and such changes make the WL20e wheel loader even easier to support in everyday construction work.

Aside from being an emission-free system, electric drive technology has very low noise emissions, and can provide operating cost savings of around 40% over the course of the machine’s service life.

With a height of 2.25m and a width of just over 1m, the Wacker Neuson WL20e can enter narrow spaces and be transported easily, and can be offered with a fold-down operator's canopy for an even lower clearance height.

The WL20e electric wheel loader is part of Wacker Neuson’s zero-emission series, which also includes two battery-powered rammers, the dual power mini-excavator and a track dumper.
