DHL Express introduces Ford Transit vans to its fleet
The logistics provider is looking at employing more female drivers due to the availability of automatic transmission
DHL Express has taken delivery of its first batch of Ford Transit vans from National Car Rental (NCR).
This is the first time that DHL Express will operate Ford Transit vans in its UAE fleet as it replaces its existing vehicles.
The logistics provider is looking at employing more female drivers due to the availability of automatic transmission in Ford Transit vehicles.
Mike Barrett, vice president-operations, DHL Express, said: "Ford Transit vans are compatible with our sustainability initiatives. Their fuel-efficient and safe vehicles are equipped with safety aids such as reversing cameras and blind spot eliminators making them ideal for our couriers.
"The option of automatic transmission enables us to employ female drivers in greater numbers, helping us to achieve another one of our key objectives to ensuring diversity within the workforce," he added.
Rizleigh Grand, vice president, rental and leasing, NCR, said: "Ford Transit vehicles offer best-in-class safety and fuel economy. The vans can be serviced at Al Tayer Motors Ford service centres in Dubai and the Northern Emirates as well as at Premier Motors in Abu Dhabi, which reduces vehicle downtime for our fleet customers."
