AJI Rentals introduces the biggest mini crane in the UAE
The Jekko SPX 1280 has an 8-ton lift capacity, 2-ton pick and carry capability, and 26.6m working height with a hydraulic jib.
Discovering a safer, faster and easier way to lift loads in confined spaces, and congested areas, AJI Heavy Equipment Rental L.L.C (AJI Rentals), the official dealer of Jekko products in the region, has introduced the Jekko SPX1280 mini crane to the Middle East, with the first machine arriving in the UAE.
The SPX1280 encompasses new-generation technology that fully exploits the concepts of stability and hoisting. It results in straightforwardness and versatility for the operators to enjoy a new working experience and endless operating configurations, pushing to the extremes the concept of performance.
Dean Jones, general manager, AJI Rentals, says: “The SPX1280 has a very user-friendly interface, allowing full control of all cranes, Jib and tool functions, through one easy-to-use control box. This is an exciting piece of equipment and will be a welcome addition to our rental fleet. With a lift capacity of 8 tons, a 2 ton pick and carry capability, a maximum lift height of 26.6m with the hydraulic jib installed, removable counterweight and a footprint up to 50% smaller than its competitors, the SPX1280 offers massive advantages; without a doubt, it is the top machine in its category.”
The governing technology of the new SPX1280 offers an entirely new approach for the operator to manage different working situations. In the past, the configurations that allowed to reach the stability required were extremely limited and affected the work dynamics; nowadays, the combination of the stabilization system, sensor technology, software, and a new user interface generates endless working situations. The core of this crane is its new stabilization system that makes the machine adapt to any working environment and the well-known hydraulic jib with three extensions that can be stowed either under or on the side of the main boom.
The stabilization system of the SPX1280 considers several factors to determine the possible working conditions. Depending on the opening angle and the extension of the outriggers, as well as the potential use of the counterweight, the machine software can define in real-time, the capacity in a specific point. In the past, this wasn’t possible to such an extent since partial extensions of the outriggers, and 0° to 45° intermediate angles could not be considered. The stabilization degrees have increased from four to seven and their display on the interface is more accessible and user-friendly.
With a new hydraulic system, this crane has a smoother and more precise operation, which increases the operator’s feeling of control. This 100% electronically operated supply system has been enhanced to offer new functions such as jib extension and boom lifting at the same time, smoother and more performing tracks, operation while combining four functions at a time.
The SPX1280 features a 19kW diesel engine fitted with a variable displacement pump that increases the efficiency of the whole unit while fully exploiting the engine power depending on the operation underway. This means better performance and reliability, as well as considerable fuel reduction. The new engine (Stage V, Tier 4 Final) complies with the 2019 EU emission standards.
The SPX1280 is operated via a new user-friendly radio remote control designed by Jekko’s in-house team. Five configurations are possible: pick & carry, crane, stabilizers, crosspieces, and travel. A single radio remote control starts, configures and operates the machine and its tools: with no more on-board controls, it provides access to everything in the operator’s hands.
In a continuously developing market of lifting equipment, the new SPX1280 is a significant evolution and sets the bar higher for what concerns technological innovation. Similar to its predecessor, the SPX1280 is designed for use in steel construction, industrial maintenance, and installations and the glazing and glass sector, and its versatility can be better appreciated when lifting activities are carried out in confined areas.
“Mini cranes need to be able to not only access confined areas, but also need to be able to operate and lift in confined areas. The advantages of advanced programs and smaller outrigger footprints are evident while using this machine,” says Jones.
AJI Rentals established themselves within the UAE as a market-leading supplier of a diverse range of rental equipment in 2016, as a related business of ALEC Engineering and Contracting L.L.C. The primary focus of AJI Rentals was the provision of elevated work platforms, with the aim of improving safety standards and the condition of equipment offered in the market and to meet the demand for higher quality rental equipment.
AJI offers equipment rental, with or without operators, and has a diversified fleet of mini cranes, cleaning equipment, and material handling equipment, with or without operators. The full range of services includes rental, training, equipment sales, and service and maintenance contracts of customer-owned equipment. AJI Rentals also offers one of the youngest rental fleets equipped with the latest safety technologies, all supplied from the world’s leading manufacturers.
