Doosan Infracore wins contract to supply 10 large 50-ton excavators to Saudi Arabia
Doosan Infracore announced that it had signed a contract to supply ten 50-ton DX520LCA excavators to a construction company in Saudi Arabia. The same company, the name of which has not been revealed, invested in ten Doosan articulated dump trucks earlier this year. The large order accounts for almost half of the country’s average orders for ADTs in any given year.
The customer acquired these equipment for a large-scale construction project in Riyadh and will add them to a fleet of more than fifty Doosan machines that include 70-ton excavators and wheel loaders.
Doosan Infracore claims to have maintained a market share of more than 10% in the Middle East by launching competitive new products and implementing an integrated customer service called 'DoosanCare’.
Kwanhee Jeong, managing director of emerging markets sales, said: “Doosan Infracore’s excavators and wheel loaders have ranked first or second in terms of market share in the Saudi Arabian market, but the country’s ADT market has long been dominated by US and Japanese firms. On the back of the latest success, we will continue to work hard to win additional large-scale orders in the region.”
“We are reinforcing our product lineup, including large excavators, in order to flexibly respond to the rapidly changing market environment and fierce competition in the region. We plan to focus on expanding our sales in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, in particular, as large excavators account for a relatively high proportion of their construction equipment markets,” he added.
